Salt Water Swimming Safety

Biomarine has collected and analyzed swimming waters at several beaches on the North Shore of Boston for a decade to determine whether bacteriological levels are safe for swimming and recreation.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health currently accepts an enterococci count of <104/100ml in marine bathing waters.

Enterococci originate from intestinal sources and are more resistant than fecal coliforms to die off in salt water.

Biomarine also provides full service sampling and analysis for many private and municipal beaches.
